Toast w/ Calendula Apricot Jam & Rose Pineapple Juice

Another obsession of mine is calendula (also known as marigold).
It is a staple for a lot of witches, particularly those (like myself) who utilize it for traditional womb work. It is also used widely for skin remedies and provides relief for skin inflammation and wounds.
(Wombs & Wounds)
I usually make infused oils but I wanted to try a different way of utilizing its medicinal properties.

So what better method than consumption?

The taste of the flowers are perfect to offset the sweetness of apricot spread and the hint of lime zest really takes the flavor up a notch.

Calendula Apricot Jam

  • Store bought Organic Apricot Jam (Find a homemade apricot jam recipe here)
  • 2 tbsp dried calendula flowers (remove any leaves or stems)1 tsp of lime zest
  • Mix it all together and spread on toast

... I mean it can't get any easier than that.

Rose Pineapple Juice
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup of fresh rose petals or strongly scented rosebuds
1/2 cup distilled water

First make the rose water:
Take rose petals and cover them completely with distilled water.
Simmer rose petals and water on low-medium heat (make sure it does not boil) for twenty minutes.
Cool & strain the product and compost the petals
Allow it to cool in the fridge

Next..
Take frozen pineapples and cover it with the rose water.
Either drink the frothy contents or place the juice through a strainer so it is less concentrated.

I personally like it as is but feel free to add natural sweeteners like elderflower syrup.

Enjoy <3
